History

Country Bible Church began as a small Bible study in 1977. In 1980, Steve and Trish felt that God told them to move to Ashby and begin a church. The ministry bought a small farmhouse on 13 acres in rural Ashby. At first, the work was small and there was much opposition and at times it seemed like an uphill battle. Rumors about our little church seemed to spread like wildfire. In the midst of it all, God was blessing the work. We began to see people saved and their lives were turned around. CBC slowly began to grow until the little farm home was filled to capacity.

It was decision time for our fledgling church. Should we relocate? Should we build on? After seeking God's wisdom through much prayer we decided to build a sanctuary onto the existing farmhouse.

We broke ground in the fall of 1982; this new addition seated 100 people. Miraculously, the money came from everywhere until the building was completed and every bill was paid in full. Over the next 10 years, the church would build 2 more major additions, which includes a new sanctuary to seat 300, and a 7,000 square foot children's auditorium. As a result of God's faithfulness, all was paid for by completion.

In the last 26 years, thousands of people have joined us for camp meetings, kids' camps, youth camps, family camps, and marriage retreats, to have their lives touched by the power of God. We have seen people young and old saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit. Many people have been healed and delivered from life-long bondages.

One of our greatest joys is watching young people experience the touch of God. In 1996, plans were made to build a center where kids can experience the power of God. In October 2000, the Destiny Center opened its doors. It is called the Destiny Center because we believe that every child has a destiny and that it can only be realized by knowing God. Although many kids have found Christ through the ministry of the Destiny Center it is just now being positioned for its greatest impact.

Over the years, Country Bible Church has expanded its outreaches to include mission work in countries around the world. In some of these countries churches have been planted and the work of God has continued.

At home, the ministry of Country Bible Church has expanded to include: church planting, tent meetings, a Christian academy, a Bible training center, television, radio, mission trips, home Bible studies and fellowships. The last 26 years have been a journey of faith. We believe our greatest days are yet ahead.

Beliefs
  1. The Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
  2. There is one God, eternally existent in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
  3. In the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, in His vicarious and atoning sacrifice through His shed blood, in His ascension and in His personal return in power and glory upon the earth.
  4. The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ.
  5. Regeneration and conversion through faith in Jesus Christ is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful humanity.
  6. That water baptism and the Lord's supper are ordinances to be observed by the church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.
  7. The Gospel includes holiness of heart and life, healing of the body, and the baptism in the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4; 10:44-46; 19:6 whereby the gifts of the Spirit become active in the life of the believer.
  8. In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. The one to everlasting life, and the other to everlasting damnation.
